POLISH SONGS
The Warsaw Village Band

Workshop in collaboration with the Polish association.

This time, we will get down to the songs of the summer solstice, known in Poland as 'Sobótki' (eng. Bonfire). These are some of the oldest, most archaic pagan songs. They sound the best when sung in wide, open spaces filled with nature: in the fields, by the water, around a bonfire. You will hear not only Polish melodies of Kupala Night but also those originating from neighbouring Belarus and Ukraine. We will immerse ourselves in songs, following ancient participants of these ritual beliefs, to be able to use the energy of the period of transition for the good of the community, to see the future, and cross the borders of time and space. Let your voice ring out!
